Ingredients:
- 1 kg ripe tomatoes, chopped (or 2 cans of diced tomatoes)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 1.5 L vegetable broth or chicken broth
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Chop the tomatoes, onion, garlic, carrot, and celery into small pieces. If you are using canned tomatoes, drain any excess liquid.
Combine All Ingredients:
Place the chopped tomatoes, onion and garlic, chopped carrot, chopped celery, vegetable or chicken broth, dried basil, dried oregano, sugar (if using), salt, and black pepper into the soup maker.
Select the Smooth Mode:
Close the lid of the soup maker securely. Choose the “Smooth” mode. This mode will blend the ingredients into a creamy and smooth consistency. Allow the soup maker to work its magic according to the recommended time for making soup, usually around 30 minutes.
Taste and Adjust Seasoning:
Once the soup is done, carefully open the lid. Give the soup a taste and adjust the seasoning if needed by adding more salt, pepper, or herbs according to your preference.
Serve Hot:
Transfer the tomato soup to bowls. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for added flavor and presentation. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious homemade tomato soup!
Notes:
- For a thicker soup, reduce the amount of broth slightly. For a thinner consistency, add a bit more broth.
