Ingredients:

  • 1-2 tablespoons vanilla syrup
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) of espresso
  • 8 ounces (240 ml) of milk (whole milk is recommended for a richer texture, but you can use any type of milk you prefer)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Additional caramel sauce (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Espresso:

    • Brew 2 ounces of espresso using an espresso machine or another method that yields a strong, concentrated coffee.
  2. Heat and Froth the Milk:

    • Heat the milk to about 150°F (65°C) without boiling it. You can use a saucepan on the stove or a microwave.
    • Froth the milk using a milk frother, electric whisk, or by shaking it in a jar with a lid to incorporate air and create a creamy foam.
  3. Assemble the Macchiato:

    • Pour the vanilla syrup into the bottom of a mug or glass.
    • Drizzle the caramel sauce around the inside of the mug.
    • Add the heated milk to the mug, followed by the shot of espresso. You can pour the espresso slowly over the back of a spoon to sink it into the milk and create a layered effect.
    • If you prefer, stir the ingredients together to combine the flavors.
  4. Top with Whipped Cream and Caramel Drizzle (Optional):

    • Add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the macchiato.
    • Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the whipped cream in a criss-cross pattern for a decorative finish.
  5. Serve Immediately:
