How to make Carribean Coffee (Recipe)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of double espresso or strong black coffee
  • 30 ml (1 fl oz) of dark rum (aged, black, or golden rum is recommended for better flavor) 
  • Whipped cream
  • Brown sugar or syrup to taste

    Instructions:

    1. Brew a double espresso or prepare a strong black coffee. The coffee should be rich and bold to stand up to the rum. 
    2. Pour the rum into a heatproof glass, such as an Irish coffee glass or a similar style cup.
    3. Add brown sugar or syrup to taste, and stir well until the ingredients are combined.
    4. Pour the hot coffee into the glass with the rum mixture and stir gently to combine.
    5. Float a layer of whipped cream on top of the coffee. You can make homemade whipped cream by beating cold heavy cream with a little sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. For a vegan option, substitute coconut whipped cream
