Vanilla Foam Latte

Vanilla Foam Latte

in recipes-milk frother

Prepare the Ingredients

  • Milk 200ml (It is recommended to choose whole milk, as it creates a richer and denser foam.)
  • Vanilla syrup 10ml (The amount can be adjusted to personal taste, and there are various brands of vanilla syrup available on the market.)
  • Espresso 30ml (An Italian espresso machine can be used to ensure the quality and richness of the espresso.)

Steps

  1. Milk Preparation and Frothing
    • Pour the milk into the milk frother's container and add vanilla syrup. First, mix them thoroughly to dissolve the vanilla syrup in the milk, ensuring the foam will have a uniform vanilla flavor. Next, select the airy froth milk mode on the frother and whisk the milk mixture. Keep an eye on the foam's texture during this process. Stop frothing when the foam becomes fine, rich, and smooth, with the volume expanding to about double its original size. At this point, the foam's temperature and texture are perfect for the next steps.
  2. Coffee Preparation
    • Meanwhile, prepare the espresso. If using an Italian espresso machine, tamp freshly ground coffee powder into the portafilter as per the machine's instructions and place it in the machine to extract around 30ml of espresso. Typically, an extraction time of about 20 - 30 seconds is ideal to ensure the espresso has a rich and balanced flavor.
  3. Combining Coffee and Foam
    • Pour the prepared espresso into a clean coffee cup. Then, carefully and slowly pour the vanilla milk foam into the cup. Use a spoon to hold back the foam initially, allowing the liquid milk to blend fully with the espresso. This creates a more harmonious layering of coffee and milk. Once the liquid milk reaches about two-thirds of the cup, cover with the foam layer to create a beautiful layered effect.
  4. Decoration and Adjustments
    • You can perform latte art according to your preference. Alternatively, sprinkle a layer of powdered sugar on the foam for added decoration. For a richer taste, you can also drizzle a small amount of caramel or chocolate sauce on top of the foam.
