Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) sugar: For sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup (113g) molasses: For a rich, sticky filling.
  • 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour: To thicken the filling.
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25g) salt: Enhances the flavor without making it salty.
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) cinnamon: Adds warmth and spice to the filling.
  • 1 large egg: At room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk: Whole milk or any milk you prefer.

Equipment:

  • Homtone pizza oven with bake function.
  • 9-inch pie dish, greased or lined with parchment paper.
  • Mixing bowls.
  • Measuring cups and spoons.
  • Electric mixer or whisk.
  • Tongs or oven mitts for handling hot dishes.
  • Serving plate.

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Pie Crust

  1. Prepare Crust: If making your own pie crust, roll it out to fit your pie dish. If using a store-bought crust, fit it into a 9-inch pie dish.

Step 2: Mix the Wet Ingredients

  1. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, molasses, egg, and milk until smooth.

Step 3: Mix the Dry Ingredients

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.

Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

  1. Add Dry to Wet: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, which can lead to a tough pie.

Step 5: Pour into Pie Crust

  1. Pour Filling: Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust.
  2. Smooth Top: Use a spatula to smooth the top of the filling.

Step 6: Bake the Pie

  1. Bake: Set your oven to the bake function at 425°F (218°C). This temperature will ensure a nice crust and a gooey filling. Place the pie dish in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. The exact time may vary slightly based on your oven.

Step 7: Cool and Serve

  1. Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours. This allows the filling to set properly.
  2. Serve: Once cooled, slice the pie and serve as desired. You can also top with whipped cream or ice cream for extra indulgence.

Tips for Pecan Pie:

  • Pie Crust: You can make your own or use a store-bought pie crust.
  • Filling Consistency: The filling should be thick but pourable.
  • Baking Time: Keep an eye on the pie as it bakes to prevent overcooking. The exact time may vary slightly based on your oven.
  • Storage: Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
