Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts: Halved and trimmed.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil: For tossing the Brussels sprouts and helping the seasonings adhere.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated for the best flavor and texture.
  • Salt and pepper: To taste, for seasoning.

  • Enamel baking tray.
  • Mixing bowl.
  • Tongs or oven mitts for handling hot trays.

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Trim and Halve: Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half lengthwise.

Step 2: Season the Brussels Sprouts
In a Mixing Bowl: Place the halved Brussels sprouts in a large mixing bowl.
Add Oil and Seasonings: Drizzle the olive oil over the Brussels sprouts and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Toss to Combine: Use a large spoon or your hands to toss the Brussels sprouts until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.

Step 3: Roast the Brussels Sprouts
Place on Baking Tray: Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts out in a single layer on your enameled baking tray.
Set the Oven: Set your oven to the ROAST function at 400°F (200°C).
Roast: Place the tray in the oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and slightly browned on the edges.

Step 4: Add Parmesan Cheese
Sprinkle Cheese: After 15 minutes of roasting, carefully sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts.
Continue Roasting: Return the tray to the oven and roast for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.

Step 5: Check and Serve
Check for Doneness: The Brussels sprouts should be tender and the cheese should be melted and slightly crispy.
Serve: Remove the tray from the oven and let the Brussels sprouts rest for a few minutes before transferring them to a serving plate.
