Ingredients:
-
600g potatoes (Maris Pipers, King Edwards, or Rooster for the best texture)
-
Oil (optional, for coating)
-
Seasoning (chip seasoning, curry powder, paprika, salt, and pepper)
Steps:
Prepare the potatoes:
-
Scrub the potatoes clean or peel them if you prefer. Cut them into thick strips for regular chips or thin strips for French fries.
-
Rinse the potato strips in cold water to remove excess starch. This helps make them crispier.
Preheat the oven:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F for 5 minutes without any accessories.
Season the potatoes:
-
While the oven is preheating, pat the potato strips dry with a kitchen towel or paper towel to remove any extra moisture.
-
Toss the potato strips with a little oil and your choice of seasoning. You can use chip seasoning, curry powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Cook the chips:
-
Place the seasoned potato strips in the air fryer basket of your multifunction oven.
-
Turn the knob to "AIR FRY".
-
Press the "TIME" and/or "TEMP" buttons to set the cooking time to 20-25 minutes and the temperature to 400°F. (Adjust according to the size of the potato chips)
-
Press the knob to start cooking.
Cooking Tips:
-
Don't overcrowd: Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. This will help the chips crisp up properly.
-
Adjust for thickness: Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the potato strips. Thicker strips will need longer, while thinner strips will cook faster.
-
Keep an eye on them: Watch the chips closely while they cook to prevent burning. They should be golden brown and crispy when ready.
