Bubblegum Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons bubblegum flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • Pink or red food coloring
  • ½ cup confetti sprinkles
  • 1 cup gumballs, for decoration

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, bubblegum flavoring, vanilla extract, and kosher salt.
  2. Whisk to Dissolve: Whisk for 2-3 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved into the mixture. When you rub the mixture between your fingers, you should not feel any grit.
  3. Add Food Coloring: Add pink or red food coloring until you achieve the desired pink color.
  4. Churn the Ice Cream Mixture: Pour the mixture into the ice cream bowl and churn it on the ice cream setting until it becomes thick and reaches a soft-serve ice cream consistency. Alternatively, wait for the cycle to complete.
  5. Add Confetti Sprinkles: In the last two minutes of churning, add the confetti sprinkles, reserving one tablespoon for later use.
  6. Transfer to Container: Spoon the ice cream into a shallow container or a loaf pan. Sprinkle the remaining confetti on top.
  7. Cover with Plastic Wrap or Wax Paper: Press plastic wrap or wax paper onto the surface of the ice cream. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until solid.
  8. Let Sit and Serve: Allow the ice cream to sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve with gumballs.
