in HOW TO USE-Food Processor

1. Unboxing and Inspection

When you first receive the Homtone 16 cup food processor, carefully unbox it and check all the components. Ensure that you have the main unit (base), the 16-cup bowl, the 3-in-1 pusher, 3 stainless steel blades (french fried potato julienne disc, 2 in 1 blade: rough slicer & julienne disc, shredder disc), 2 S-blades (stainless steel blade and plastic blade), the whisking disc, and any other accessories that came with the product. Make sure there are no damages or missing parts.

2. Installation of the Bowl

Place the base of the food processor on a stable and flat surface. Take the 16-cup bowl and align the black arrow on the bowl with the lock pattern on the base. Rotate the bowl clockwise until it is securely locked to the base. You should hear a click or feel a firm connection.

3. Installing the Blades

  • For Chopping and Mincing: If you want to chop or mince ingredients, select the appropriate S-blade (stainless steel blade for harder ingredients like nuts or meat, and the plastic blade for softer ingredients like herbs or garlic). Insert the S-blade into the center of the bowl, making sure it is firmly attached to the blade holder.
  • For Slicing and Shredding: To slice or shred vegetables or cheese, choose the relevant stainless steel blade (french fried potato julienne disc for julienning potatoes, 2 in 1 blade: rough slicer & julienne disc for different slicing needs, or the shredder disc for shredding). Insert the selected blade onto the drive shaft in the bowl.
  • For Whipping Egg Whites or Cream: Attach the whisking disc to the drive shaft in the bowl. Remember that for whipping cream, the cream should be refrigerated beforehand for best results.

4. Loading Ingredients

  • Small Ingredients: Place small ingredients directly into the bowl. For example, when chopping garlic or herbs, put them in the bowl before starting the machine.
  • Larger Ingredients: For larger ingredients, use the 3-in-1 pusher. Insert the pins of the pusher into the holes on the bowl to activate the system. Depending on the size of the ingredient, choose the appropriate slot on the pusher. The wider feed slots can accommodate larger pieces of vegetables or fruits.

5. Starting the Machine

  • Preset Modes: There are 6 preset modes available. Turn the knob to the desired preset mode:
    • Pulse: Use this mode for quick bursts of processing, such as chopping nuts into coarse pieces or quickly pureeing a small amount of ingredients.
    • Whipping cream: Ideal for whipping refrigerated cream into whipped cream.
    • Whisking for Egg White: Use this mode to whisk egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
    • Dough mixing: Perfect for kneading dough, whether it's for bread, pizza, or pastry.
    • Chop: Suitable for general chopping tasks like chopping vegetables for a salad.
    • Auto Clean: After using the food processor, you can use this mode to clean it. Fill the bowl with water and a small amount of dish soap, then select the Auto Clean mode. The machine will run to clean the bowl and blades.
  • Manual Mode ("M"): If you want to have more control over the time and speed of processing, turn the knob to "M". You can then press the knob to start the function and adjust the speed and time according to your needs. For example, when processing softer ingredients, you can start with a lower speed setting, and for harder ingredients, increase the speed as required.

6. Stopping the Machine

To stop the food processor, simply press the knob again. Wait until the blades have completely stopped rotating before opening the lid or removing the bowl.

7. Cleaning

  • Accessories: Most of the accessories except the base can be washed in a dishwasher. Make sure the water temperature in the dishwasher does not exceed 140°F and add an appropriate amount of detergent. For handwashing, use warm soapy water to clean the blades, bowl, and pusher thoroughly.
  • Base: Wipe the base of the food processor with a damp cloth to remove any spills or debris. Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid.

8. Storage

Once all the components are clean and dry, store them in a cool, dry place. You can keep the blades and other accessories inside the bowl for easy organization and storage. Make sure to keep the food processor out of reach of children when not in use.

By following these steps, you can effectively and safely use your Homtone 16 cup food processor to meet all your food processing needs.
